Help Us Fight Childhood Hunger This Month!
We’re donating $10.00 to At the Core for every referral we receive in July. At the Core is actively fighting childhood hunger in Spokane County, where over 24,000 kids are food insecure. That means 22% of kids in our community don’t know where their next meal will come from.
Food insecurity creates a variety of health and behavioral issues for young kids. Kids who are considered "food insecure" are:
- 300% more likely to be obese by the age of 5.
- 150% more likely to be aggressive or hyperactive.
- Twice as likely to be in "fair or poor" health compared to their peers.
At the Core provides weekend food kits for children who depend on free and reduced-price meals during the school week. Partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank, At the Core works with Spokane-area businesses, churches, and organizations to “adopt” elementary schools for a three-year period. To learn more about At the Core, please visit LifeAtTheCore.com or their Facebook page.
It’s easy to help. Please ask your friends and family to contact us for a free quote, so we can make a donation to At the Core. Thank you!
Charity of the Month: Spokane Humane Society
A few years ago, our agency decided we needed to do more to support our community, so we created a referral program to benefit local non-profit organizations. As many of you know, we donate $10.00 to a charity for each of your referrals. When we ran the numbers for the end of the year donations, we were blown away…
Because of your 1,000 referrals, we were able to donate over $10,000 to non-profits in 2014. Your referrals truly make a difference in our community. Our referral program has only been successful because of you, our clients. Thank you!
For January, our Charity of the Month is the Spokane Humane Society! The Spokane Humane Society places around 3,000 animals each year through its adoption program.
It takes a lot to care for that many animals, which is why we’re holding a food and supply drive for the Spokane Humane Society this month. Drop off any of the following wish list items to our office, and we’ll deliver them to the Humane Society!
Dry food for all animals
Blankets, towels, and wash cloths
Kong® dog toys, cat toys, and corrugated cardboard scratching pads
For more information about the Spokane Humane Society or to adopt a pet, please visit SpokaneHumaneSociety.org. If you’d like to donate an item to our pet supply drive, please stop by our office during business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
